2 tips to reduce a white spot on the skin?

While it is quite easy to reduce the brown spots of pigmentation on the skin, it is much longer and more complicated to remove a white spot, in particular, due to Vitiligo on the skin and therefore re-pigment it.

So here are two tips to help you reduce white spots on the skin.

What is this famous white spot on the skin?

Most of the time, it is Vitiligo.

Vitiligo is a skin condition for which the precise cause is not known and which results in loss of skin pigmentation (hence a white spot on the skin). It reaches 1% of the population.

Most of the time, this concerns the exposed parts of the body: hands, feet, face, and also the genitals and armpits.

The evolution of this disease occurs step by step:

  • a first appearance with one or more white spots
  • flare-ups with an extension of the affected areas of the body
It seems that this is linked to important stress factors or it can be induced by other diseases: thyroid disease, adrenal insufficiency,….

When should you treat these white spots on the skin?

Well, you have to deal with it as quickly as possible. In fact, in our skin, there are melanocytes: cells that manufacture melanin, which will protect the skin from the harmful effects of the sun and its ultra-violet rays.

The white spots result from a localized loss of the skin cells responsible for pigmentation, the melanocytes which are destroyed by this disease, Vitiligo. However, at the beginning, all the melanocytes are not destroyed.

The goal of the treatment will be to re-stimulate the remaining melanocytes, and thus promote the production of melanin and re-pigmentation of the skin.

Here are the 2 tips to know to reduce white spots on the skin:

1- Know if there are still active melanocytes?

Just look at these white spots on the skin and see if the hairs are also depigmented (i.e. white) or not . If they are still colored, it means that there are still active melanocytes. The treatment, which will consist of stimulating them, will be adapted.

Otherwise, it will then be necessary to depigment the rest of the affected area to reduce the too visible effect of the white spot on the skin.

2 - Consume foods that reduce white spots:

And yes in addition to any treatment, it will be advisable to feed yourself with foods rich in beta-carotenes and vitamin B10 which helps repigmentation!
